Vancouver - Dispatch #3

Have been to 2 more yarn shops.

Urban Yarns in Edgemont with Li and Linda. Practised much restraint. Did not buy the Blue Skies Alpaca Silk and Alpaca in navy blue, but did buy some teal and black Noro to make another Square hat by Jerod Flood and some patterns for DK and Lucy Neatby yarn.

Dress Sew major sale. $1.99 a ball forNashua Handknits yarns and $4.99 for Rowan and Jaeger and Nashua pattern books. Crazy!

Shopped for 8 hours on Boxing Day. I was exhausted after. Have been staying up until 1 a.m. every night. Have permanent twitch under right eye.

Vancouver - Dispatch #2

Success! Have visited 2 yarn shops. Tried to resist but futile.

Scored Mini mochi, Starry for Elinor, Classy to make socks for mom. Wasn't feeling the love for the orange Trekking\Zauerball blend. Made it almost to the heel, but didn't like the way the colours were blending.

Visited Burnaby General Hosp with Elinor. Hosp staff rather lackadaisical. Sent us home after listening to her lungs. Tried to eat Korean for birthday dinner. Epi-pen use ensued. Will go to White Spot instead.

Menu at restaurant scariest I have ever seen. Mixed organs including spleen in a beef broth. Cow knee tendon soup. Restaurant was highly recommended by brother.

Saw Blind Side movie. Very good. Cornelius enjoyed as well. Elinor and Calliope saw Frog Prince.

Hope your dinners are going well Sara!

Off to wind the Classy into a ball.

Vancouver - Dispatch #1

Last to get on plane. Will listen to co-worker next time and go earlier.
Plane late to leave - gate frozen to plane.

Attended preschool concert - watched Bobs and Lolo of Treehouse fame.
Attended Senior Xmas ball with Karaoke and same sex waltzing partners. Only stayed long enough to amass purse full of Mandarin oranges.

Dinner at Vietnames restaurant. Ordered usual. Yum!

End of first day.

Painful 5 year old Chinese torture test ongoing. 24/7 contact hard to bear. Will I last 17 days?

Funny names

This is a hilarious thing to do. Apparently there are 7 people in the U.S. with the same name as me. They all live in the south.

Hats off to you!

I knit these 2 hats for a co-worker whose baby should be arriving any minute now. I found a cute shamrock pattern that would have made a perfect addition to a hat for a baby born around St. Paddy's day, but it is too late now.
I've started another baby hat for another pregnant co-worker. Little hats are addictive! And they take so little yarn!

Congrat's to Grasshopper

Those are some very cute amigurumi's Grasshopper...I must admit I'm jealous as I have yet to finish one. The heads kept coming out extremely misshapen...I will get back to that though one day as my nieces got their hands on Amigurumi World and I have a monkey and a penguin on order :)
Sensei, I must say that I'm not so sure about that quiz...your knitting ability shows us that you are disciplined....I'll take it and see how I turn out.
Congratulations again Grasshopper on the great SI news !

Well, I thought I should share some pictures to show that I actually do know how to knit and purl :)
